What is a Sorceress Oracle deck?
A sorceress oracle deck is an oracle deck built around a single figure: the Sorceress. Unlike tarot, which follows a fixed 78-card structure of major and minor arcana, an oracle deck sets its own shape — its own count, its own language, its own way of speaking. The Sorceress Oracle is the first oracle deck devoted exclusively to the Sorceress, with 44 cards, each one a distinct woman of power with her own message.
The Sorceress is frequently confused with two neighbours. She is neither.
Witch, Priestess, Sorceress
| Figure | She works with | Her ground | Her voice |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Witch | Nature, herbs, healing crafts, the phases of the moon. | The garden, the hearth, the wild edge of a place. | She works with what grows and turns. |
| The Priestess | Ritual, art, ceremony, service to a community. | The temple, the circle, the gathered people. | She receives and carries the message of the Goddess. |
| The Sorceress | Both of the above — and past them. | Reality itself. She has left the urban temple. | She doesn't receive messages from beyond. She speaks Source language and reality answers. |
This deck won’t tell you your future. It reminds you that you’re the one writing it.
How a sorceress reading differs from tarot
Tarot answers in symbols carried down through centuries: suits, arcana, reversals, spreads with fixed positions. A tarot reading tends toward outcome — what is coming, what surrounds it, what stands in the way.
A sorceress reading answers in authorship. Each of the 44 cards is a Sorceress with a message, a theme and an invitation. There is no fortune being told and nothing being predicted. The question a card returns is always some version of: what will you speak into being now?
In The Sorceress Oracle each card also carries a point of awareness — a single line naming what the card is asking you to notice — and a voice reading in which she speaks her message aloud.
